Frank Barazsu is more than a CPA. With an accounting degree from Michigan State University and over 30 years of experience, he has an AICPA designation of PFS, and he understands what business is all about and has a diverse client base to prove it. A managing partner and founder, Frank grew up in Allen Park, MI, and enjoys the everyday challenges that Public Accounting generates, and managing these challenges in the small firm environment with a top quality team and members. When he’s not working, he enjoys skiing, golf, exercise and spending time with his family.
Jim is one of the founding partners in the firm. He has worked in public and internal management accounting for over 30 years. His vast experience as a management accountant for various organizations has earned him the right to hold the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGM) designation. Jim is qualified by his training and experience to provide consulting services for small to mid size businesses in the fields of internal controls and human resources, in addition to his knowledge in personal and corporate taxes. Within his practice, Jim has performed services for the insurance industry, construction, real estate, and retail management. Jim has a BBA from Eastern Michigan University and a CPA license from the State of Michigan. He enjoys boating, hiking, golfing, swimming, skiing, snowshoeing and spending time in Bellaire, MI.
Karon joined Barazsu & Cross in November 2012 after working for 13 years in a CPA firm in Tucson, AZ. She has vast experience in working with clients in QuickBooks to include teaching courses as well as presenting seminars for small business owners while in North Carolina and Arizona.  Karon transferred her CPA license from Arizona to Michigan in 2012.  She has over 19 years of public accounting experience in both accounting and tax preparation work. This experience allows her to assist and advise clients. She earned a BA in Business and Economics from St. Andrews Presbyterian College, and her MBA in Accounting from the University of Phoenix in 2004. She enjoys the small firm atmosphere that lends itself to promoting a team environment between staff as well as between staff and clients. While not providing non-stop consulting for everything from small business consulting to tax preparation, she loves to spend time with family, golfing, and kayaking.
Katharin has been with Barazsu & Cross since 2015, and has 20 years of experience in public accounting. Currently a resident of Sterling Heights, MI, she grew up in Burbank California. After graduating from Oakland University with Honors in Accounting, she earned her CPA and CGMA. She loves working with a variety of clientele, and enjoys new dining experiences and attending music and sporting events.
Kyle has been with Barazsu & Cross since August 2011. He has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Michigan State University and Master’s degree in Accounting from Oakland University. His responsibilities include performing various bookkeeping compilation and tax services. Kyle obtained his CPA license in 2014 from the State of Michigan. He enjoys creating close client relationships and knowing that he’s provided excellent service. There’s no better feeling for him than getting a compliment form a satisfied client. He loves summer almost as much as he loves attending MSU football games.
Michael is the newest member of the Barazsu & Cross team, graduating from Michigan State University in 2014, and earning his Masters from Walsh College in 2016. A lifelong resident of Michigan, Michael places a high priority on creating lifelong client relationships. His dedication to understanding a client’s needs in a timely manner is reflected in his belief that efficiency is a key attribute he seeks to gain while completing everyday tasks. Michael enjoys spending time with family and golfing whenever the weather is cooperative.
